Tim’s law practice began at Landry McGillivray
with articles in 1982. He was called to the Bar in 1983 and
thereafter has continued his practice at the firm, becoming
a partner in 1988.
Tim is the past recipient of several scholastic awards, including
the Queen Elizabeth II medal for academic excellence (St.
Patrick’s High School), an entrance scholarship to Dalhousie
University, and upon graduation from Dalhousie University
Law School, the Canadian Bar Association Prize for Maritime
Law.
Presently, Tim sits on the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society Bar Council, serves with the NSBS Executive Committee and Chairs the Family Law Professional Standards Committee.
Tim’s preferred areas of practice are family law, civil
litigation (including personal injury, commercial, and insurance
litigation), and real estate. Tim heads Landry McGillivray’s
family law team. He has represented clients at all Supreme
Court levels and has experience before many administrative
boards and tribunals, including the Police Review Board, the
Canada Labour Relations Board, the Canadian Human Rights Commission,
and the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission. |
